History of the college

Bhagabati Devi Primary Teachers' Training Institute is a popular teacher education college in the state of West Bengal. Our college was established in 2003 with the intake capacity of 150 students as residential Primary Teachers' Training Institute. It is one of the leading college of Teacher Education. It is located in Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal. Our college is recognised by NCTE and affiliated by the West Bengal Board of primary Education & {Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University {Erstwhile The West Bengal University of Teachers' Training, Education Planning and Administration)}. It is self-financed college.

Mrs. Usha Mishra was the founder of this institute. It was on15th August 2003 that a new history was heralded at Khakurda, Paschim Medinipur. On the initiative of Bhagabati Devi Nari Kalyan Samity (S/96277,1999-Khakurda) this primary teachers' training institute was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Anandadev Mukhopadhay (Former Vice-Chancellor of Vidyasagar University), in presence of Prof. Sri Swapan Kr. Sarkar (Former Secretary, West Bengal Board of Primary Education), Prof (Dr.) Apurba Nandi (Former Principal of Medinipur Medical College), Sri Sri Gorachand Das (Former Chairman of Paschim Medinipur District Primary School Council), Mrs. Usha Mishra (Founder of Baramohanpur Bhagabati Devi Nari Kalyan Samity) and Dr. Siddhartha Sankar Mishra (Principal of this College) .The new course B. Ed. Started in 2017.

The college goes swimmingly and everything is in ship shape for the dedicative support of the galaxy of teachers, non-teaching staff as well as the governing body who try to raise the college to new heights of glory and excellence. The constructive and positive efforts of the students are also very important in this direction precisely speaking this college has come as a capstone for the collective endeavour of all.
